Scientific classification: Halibut belong to the family Pleuronectidae.
Halibut is a flatfish related to the Flounder and are commonly found in the cold portions of the Pacific Ocean
Halibut are active and voracious, feeding principally on fish and the larger crustaceans.
A Popular fish, Halibut are longer, thicker, and heavier than any of the other flatfishes.
Makes an Excellent meal and is great baked, broiled or grilled.
